Name Poems – Microfiction Monday

Another Name for Love

Jam fresh pressed from warm red raspberries

Only just picked this morning

Under the radiant August sunlight the

Rays warming your skin so you smell sunscreen and musk. Your body

Damp from salty sweat and tears of laughter.

Another berry for the bucket, two more for you straight from the vine.

Now you kiss sticky fingers as you watch the smoky sunset over the lake.

Seaside Sunset

Sea waves leave foamy circles on the edge of the sand while I watch,

Under the salt swollen boardwalk, as the orange sun drops from the sky.

Now the clouds are purple and pink, soft wisps of cotton candy,

So sweet on the tip of my tongue. I wave goodbye as the sun takes its

Exit for the day. I wrap my blanket like a cloak around my shoulders and

Tip my head back to welcome the stars.
