Mountains and Fields – Watercolor Wednesday

Welcome to my first Watercolor Wednesday post! This is the second watercolor painting I have ever painted. I really enjoyed this three panel process. The ones I wasn’t working on were drying while I worked on the next panel and then were dried and ready for the next layer by the time I was ready to move on. The paint splatter at the end for the stars was also really fun if messy. I ended up with a reverse french manicure with white gouache paint all under my fingernail. Next time I’ll use a stiffer brush! Since I’m still learning this took me about 4 hours to do but it was a really fun experience and I would recommend giving it a try.

Watercolor painting in three panels of a field, a sunset lake, and midnight mountains.

If you’re interested in trying it yourself, I shared the Youtube video that was my guide. I like how she explains things and will probably be doing more of her beginning watercolor videos in the future. You can definitely see the difference in her finished product and mine. Excited for what I can do in the future with more practice!
